Hi everyone, newbie here trying to get a 90 model Bayliner Capri ready for the water. I'm getting a constant alarm with the key on running or not. (Boat has a '92 115 Johnson on it now) Do I understand correctly that the temp switches are normally open and close when hot to complete the circuit and sound the alarm? Any tricks to changing them? Right now both are grounded. Also does anyone know if these old Bayliners have low fuel alarms? Ran the tank dry today and was wondering if it might be a fuel alarm. I'm trying to work out all the electrical bugs before the shakedown cruise. Thanks in advance.

Re: Temperature switch operation 115 Johnson

Thanks for the reply. Fiddled around with it today and found the engine harness chafed through where it comes out of the motor under a metal plate. The tan wire for the temp switches was shorted to ground so it turned out to be an easy fix. Thanks again.
