I hope Someone can help me.
I am trying to replace my the block in my 82 25 hp Evinrude with the model number E25ELCNE. I was sold a block with the number E25RWLCTE on it, this I believe is a 83 block. After boring, honing and new forged piston, I found the Top Main Bearing is much smaller on new block. Do I need to change the crank and rods? To confuse things more all the part sites list the same part for both motors. What can I do?

Re: Help With OMC main bearings

I rebuilt a 30hp and in the middle of it found a brand new block on ebay for less than boring would cost. The new blocks bearing area was smaller than the old block but the bearing that I ordered (not knowing there was a difference) fit the new block. The ID was the same size..the od was the difference and it worked fine
