OMC Serial Number Question - Need new manifolds

I wonder if anybody can help. I need to purchase new exhaust manifolds and riser for a 5.7 Litre OMC engine. They are currently the log style.

The boat was built in 1989 and the engine is a OMC 5.7 litre. Stamped on the engine is 99056AB (There is a question over the first 9 as another number F1144A has been stamped over the top).

The Mechanic who rebuilt the engine says it is a 1986 short block chevy engine.

Do either of the serial numbers make any sense? or where about should I look to find the correct serial number.

go into the online parts fiche at dougrussell.com and check a couple years either side of 1989- I think you'll find the manifolds were the same each year around there. And it will give you the part numbers for manifolds and risers. That OMC number will then give you lots of options if you google it. There was a bunch of those manifolds on eBay a while back for $39 each (GLM repops) but I think they're long gone...and check the number here at boatfix and see what they have
