Re: Decisions, decisions, decisions...
I have a low FM165, two years old now. I love the ride and the beam is wide. Fully welded hull. Huge 27 gal gas tank. Plenty of room to fish and it is layed out nicely. It handles rough water as good as you would want a 16.5 foot aluminum to, and it jumps up on plane with the 60HP motor. You can get in some skinny water if your careful, Have not had any real issues with the boat.
I shopped quite a bit for boats before I bought this one. It came down to either an expensive glass boat, I had a triton lined up. Or a decent aluminum boat. I decided aluminum, and for the money the Lowe seemed to be the best deal.
The things I don't like about it are. Factory package fishfinder is a navman piece of junk, the fuse's are the old style glass ones, not the new plug in jobs, and the fit and finish are not exactly perfect, not bad by any stretch but not perfect. No room in the compartment for a third battery to hook up a 24 volt trolling motor.
Bottom line is I am very happy with mine, It does what I want it to.
