Default yamaha digital gauge temp issue

bought a new boat with yamaha digital gauge ( tach, trim, hm ). the temp flashes all the time even with engine off and key on? engine is a 200 hpdi. i know this is under warranty but was wondering if this can be easily repaired. it doesn't affect engine running but know it is not right and needs attention. any idea's or possibly wired wrong? any schematics for this type gauge? thanks.

on the back of the tach there is a rubber cap. remove it and check that the dip switches are set on,off and off.
it will do that if left set for a fourstroke and not reset to two stroke,.

that's exactly what it was - the dip switches were set on,off,on. thanks alot for the info! saved me from dragging it to the dealer for something that simple. thanks again, brent.

no worries.
seems to happen quite a bit with 6 dollar an hour riggers.
appearently the riggers cant read.
the tachs come preset for 4 stroke,2 wire sender and 12 pole alt.
they do come with instructions and the information is in about every tech guide since about 2002.
however we still get new packages that the switches are not set correctly.
