Installing Starter on Evinrude 25

I have a 1977 Evinrude 25 hp. I want to install a starter and bracket on it. Someone told me that the starters and brackets are interchangeable for Evinrude up to a 35 hp motor. Is that true? Also, does anyone know the year range that I should look for.

20 thru 35 HP kits from 1977 thru 1987 are the same part number.
