According to the SELOC manual for this '96 150, there are no adjustments on a "B" type carb. However, it also says there are two fixed orfices that I cannot find. There is one slotted screw with a spring behind it, much like an adjusting screw. I turned one all the way in counting turns (6) and reset it. The motor runs at 1000 rpm idle and coughs and sputters a little in no wake zones. Any idea of how to smooth out the idle? The carbs are probably clean since this is a relatively fresh rebuilt powerhead. Thanks, J Ball
the high speed fixed jets are in the bottom of the bowl behind the drain plug, the low speed are at the top of the carb. requires special tool. they are not adjustable. must be spotless.

Do you have a starting point adjustment for the slotted screw with the spring. I read somewhere it may be idle mixture, but I don't know. As I said earlier, all six are at 6 turns out. I did try adjusting them a little, very little difference could be heard. JBall
In case anyone is curious, I never did get an "official" answer as to the starting point, but this morning I played with the adjustment a little. I think six turns out is a good starting point, I turned mine in 2 turns from there, and it wouldn't idle. Opened them all to 5 turns out and then just tweaked them 1/8th turn at a time. Now it idles at about 1050rpm on the hose, I suspect it'll lower a little in the water. JBall
