I have an 89 mercury 60hp motor that is sounding and alarm when I am at full throttle. If I ease off the throttle to about half speed the alarm fades out. I noticed the rpm gauge was at 6000rpms when at full throttle. Any help guys.

A 89 don't have a thermostat so you either have a bad impeller or temp sender
