Just bought this boat, it has a 73 50hp evirude mod# 50373R. It starts up if i choke it , but will not idle at very low RPM unless i have the warm up lever up some on the control box, even after running for 10 minutes. Also, what should I look for on this motor as I am new to boating, thanks!

99% you need to clean and rebuild the carbs, removing the fixed jets is necessary. carb kits are available at iboats store. you can make you own special tool to remove the jets, or the 4 in 1 husky screw driver at home depot has a small insert that i've been told will fit into the hole.

also changing the water pump impeller
