I have a 2000 Johnson 90HP that is using so much oil it won't run at low speeds and it is almostimpossible to get it to planing speed. When the motor is shut off it drips blue oil from every opening from the outer shell and a very black oil out the prop exhaust. The front of the engine and ait cleaner are covered in oil along with the spark plugs. The compression checks showed that all 4 cylinders are firing between 130-140 PSI. Is my problem the VRO and if so how do I disconnect it? I use portable gas tanks and would perfer to mis my oil and fuel but, I don't want to screw the engine up in doing so. Could someone please help!!!!!!

Re: Too Much Oil

check the gas line first - if it's sucking air the pump will cycle faster, pumping more oil

Re: Too Much Oil

Sounds to me like your oil tank is pressurized. Poke a hole in the cap gasket with a paperclip.
