what model, make, and year is my motor

I have what I was told a 1978 chrysler 85hp. yet when I try getting parts for it, they are wrong.

the numbers i've got off the motor are as follows:
857H8F-2415, 498150, 369072-1, 1979 ohio outboard motor magnapower
chrysler outboard corp, One person told me it was a 1989 force 85hp.

If anyone could help with this it would be greatly appreciated.

857 H8-b Is an 85hp, 1978-79



It is definitely NOT an '88 or '89 model.

cookie go to imageshack.us and upload them there..set it to 640x480 (for message boards) and it will automatically resize and host your pics and just copy and paste the url to it here

roscoe is right, from the serial number it's an 85HP '78

It is a 1978. I had no problems looking up in my mercury parts catalog. Any mercury dealer show be able to help you.
