1989 force 125hp no spark top two cyl.

looking for help and suggestions!!!!!!!!!
125 hp force on 18 ft center console. boat connot get out of hole. changed props, have 124 psi at each cyl. if i pull top two plug wires while engine is running nothing changes. if i pull bottom two plug wires force engine wants to stall. so those two cyl are firing. could this be a stator issue or trigger issue ? after boat planes off i get 5500 rpm at wot. please respond. thank you. fm330

check the wires that come out the 2 coils on the starboard side of the engine, I had the same problem you have and I found 2 loose wires coming out of one of the coils..

dmas checked wires they seem to be ok. a friend of mine had all electrical parts from the same engine. i changed the coil packs, cdi boxes, trigger, stator,and get the same performance. i can pull top two plug wires the engine performance does not change, it should run rough like when i pull off 3&4 coil wire.

Are you positive that they have no spark. Have you tried installing an inline spark tester or grounding the plug to the head and check for spark? I only ask because I had a similar problem with my 86 125. I determined that I had a bad cd module. After installing the module the boat still ran really ruff and spraying premixed gas through the carb when running did nothing. Come to find out I had the 2 wires from cd module to coils swapped. So the #3 and #4plugs were firing on the down stroke. Swapped the wires and everything smoothed out. Just a thought.

JDP is right, get a seloc manual on ebay, they have the electrical diagram with all the wires and were they go..,to check spark, take the plug off the spark plug, connect a spare spark plug to the plug and put it next to the one on the powerhead and ask somebody to crank the engine, you will see the spark jumping from the spark plug on the wire to the one on the powerhead.

I had the same problem, my powerpacks were intermittent, ultimately causing no spark to #'s 1 & 2. I had them replaced to the tune of 290 a piece.

I had a force some time back about 5 years ago I ran into the same problem lost 1 cylinder can say you can swap wires on the power pack or Cd's
and if the two cylinder start to fire your CD or power pack needs replacement if nothing happens then you will need a stator
I don't know if the guy I bought the parts is still in business but you can do a search
