Tachometer Replacement & Control Cables

Hi, I have a '69 100 HP Johnson. I was wondering if it makes a difference what tachometer I buy for this engine. There's a grey wire at the controls that I think is supposed to go to one. Any ideas?

Also does anyone know what type of throttle cable to buy? It doesn't mention it in the manual and I'd like to know which cable to get.

No such thing as a 1969 100hp. Come back with a model number for positive identification. Makes a big difference as to tach applications.
