I noticed the other day when I was working with my control box that with the key on, the pump in the reservoir (not the remote tank on the engine) was humming along. I activated the switch on the motor a few times and the pump kicked into high gear. The reservoir is practically empty, maybe it has a quart or two of oil in it. Could this be the reason or should I investigate further?

I turned it on again today and let it run. After about twenty seconds the pump shut off. I guess the tank on the motor was empty enough to require a fill up.
