I have a 83 capri with an 85 hp chrysler outboard. We got it and it turns over and acts fine but all three cylinders are not firing and it will not start. I took the old stator off and it was fried, so I bought a used one that appeared to have no visible problems and installed it but still has a cylinder not firing. the previous owner repaced the ignition controller and coils and plugs.I can change which cylinder fires by switching the plugs from the stator but i have no idea if that matters.
