i have an 140 evinrude model 2140txcua that i think is an 87 motor and a 115hp 115693g i dont know what year the 115 is(cant seem to match up the numbers on the identification site),can i put the short shaft from the 115 on the long shaft 140 motor.i bought the boat and the motor sits about 6 inches(i have to measure again to be sure)too low .

The 115 is a 76'. I don't think the cross over is possible. What you have to do is change the midsection to convert to a short shaft. Both engines are different designs.
