replacing alpha shift cable

I was trying to figure out how to get the drive in forward when my cable is broke?....any ideas ...can you do it from the outside of the boat. i am very mechanicly inclined... however i am new to boats.... just bought it last weekend... thanks Bud

Yep!
Lift the drive using the trim......
Look at the front of the drive where the upper & lower meet.....
You will see a shaft(lower) that fits into a slot(upper).....
Rotate the two of them so that they point straight foreward while simultaneously turning the prop ccw until it locks......
Take care to not knock the prop cw & out of drive....
Lower drive.....
Remove the six bolts on bell housing & two bolts on trim rams.....
Loosen front trim rams, but do no remove.....
Drive should be able to be removed at this point....;)
