Just changed one on my 88 Johnson 110. Once the bolts are out and the FRIGGIN tilt cylinder pin is removed the whole trim unit should tilt out from the top first and then slide out of the transom bracket giving access to the third tilt motor screw. I found it easier to mount the assembly in a vise (gently) to replace and test the new unit. Also to drill and tap a broken mounting screw

. Use lots of heat and penetrating lube on the screws.
