Have a recently purchased 1994 Monteray 206 Cuddy. It's got the Yamaha 306 I/O. After first starting it runs perfectly for as long as you run it. After turning off, it will now run and then completly shut down at spuratic intervals. It restarts with no problem, but if you push the throttle it seems like it is not getting enough gas and shuts down again. Some times it will take off and die after about 15-20 seconds.
I know the horror stories about replacement parts for the Yamaha I/O's... but this sounds like a fuel pump issue or perhaps a carb issue. I have replaced the fuel filter.
Any advice appreciated.
