Hi i just bought a boat with a 25hp Evinrude (not Johnson as i put in the title) Sportster on it serial number is
25102S-E05532. Is this a 1971? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, it is. 1971 rope start, short shaft. At least that's the way it left the factory. It may have been converted.
