1989 johnson 150 thermostat

can anyone tell me where the themostat is? my seloc marine book does not have anythioneng on it. also, there is a y fitting at the pee tube with one hose going out and one just laying in the engine compartment. is this right? anywhere i can get picts of both of these questions? thanks

I believe they are at the top of your heads with two bolts going through a cover @( o )@ looks kind of like that. If yours is the same as mine it may not be however so wait for the real experts to verify. I would guess the T in the telltale line once supplied a water pressure gauge. Is it plugged now and is there a w.p. gauge in the boat that doesn't work? I installed a water pressure gauge when I re did my waterpump assembly. It is a great way to monitor the health of your pump and impeller. Sometimes when the buzzer sounds it is already too late. They say it is best to do the pump oor at least new impeller and take your readings then, that way as things start to wear you will see a drop in pressure and know it is time for a relpacement. thanks, that makes sense on the line, i am not sure if its plugged, but will check and try to get my guage working. one more thing for the list, thanks, a lot, lol.
