If I had known back in 1993 that 11 years later the Rangers would trade Alex Rodiguez to the Yankees I never would have voted for the tax increase that built the new Ballpark. And guess what the Rangers get in return? Two minor league prospects plus the privelege of paying off $65 million of A-Rod's contract! Kind of makes you homesick for the good old days when the Managing General Partner, soon-to-be-governor George W. Bush, acquired Harold Baines in exchange for Sammy Sosa.

JTex I agree with you. Not to hijack your thread, or maybe I am :p , but I think its high time for salary caps in the baseball business. Anyone see how the NY Yankes are now paying over $190 Million just for player salaries alone? Second place is the Red Sox, somewhere around $130 Million.
What makes me raise an eyebrow at the above is the fact that the salary of the NY Yankees is now equal to several other teams in the league combined.
Its all about "buying" the world series now.
