I need a discontinued Mercury part. It is number 55190. It is called plate, divider - exhaust manifold.
It is for a 40 hp merc outboard, model 402, serial number 5253420, 1979 vintage.
It bolts to the side of the block and covers the exhaust ports. Mine has a hole eaten in it and it lets water get into my lower cylinder at idle.
Does anyone know of a dealer with old parts laying on a shelf? Does anyone have a good used one?
I could probably get the back side of mine welded, but I would prefer a different part.
