Dual Console?

Well the wife and I were up at Bass Pro Shops a couple weekends ago. It was her and not me that got excited about the Tracker and Nitro bass boats they had. She even boarded a few to check them out. She likes the Nitro better which is fine by me even though I'd be just as tickled to have the Tracker. Anyway, I see that some of the boats have the option of dual consoles though they didn't have any in stock. Is this an important feature? Looks like it might keep some of the wind and weather off the passenger but takes up room too. What say you?

I have a dual console.
It does take up a little room on smaller boats, but don't seem to effect mine any.
Still gots plenty of room.
It does benefit the passenger though.

i've had both. i personally prefer the center console with a small console, as i like to be able to move all the way around the boat. and i fish alone alot. with a wireless trolling motor. but with others aboard the dual console is much more pleasant. i also make a better combo boat.

WHen I used to fish the BASS circuit the dual consoles were an obstacle to fish around. They provide the passenger with a little comfort (not much). The tracker w/ a dual console moves into more of a family friendly arena and if you are not competing might do the trick just fine. It's all about wallet.

I think you use that to move her one step closer to the "Green light" to buy that new boat. Just say"Baby, if YOU think we should get a new boat,then at least let's get one that YOUR going to be comfortable riding in!"
When she say's"Aw,that's soo sweet your thinking about me,go ahead and get it if you want to". You got about 10 min.to sign the papers before she comes back to reality,so be ready.

Yea, I kinda like the center console design too. I like that they don't have carpet which I think would make it better for taking the dogs out on. I showed her some pics of Mako, Kenner, and Carolina Skiff boats. She wasn't impressed and would prefer better seating than the little seat in front of the console. Plus, I haven't seen one offered with a foot controlled trolling motor which is very useful for my kind of fishing.

It's not really a situation where I'm having to sell her on the idea of getting a new boat. She wants one. She's had enough of my little 14' "bream buster". She and I are the same in that we love to research things to death before we spend any money on it. It'll be a year or so before we buy but since she sees that you don't need $30K to have a nice boat she's on board.

Scout makes a very nice boat.They make a dual console in several of there models from 14' and up.I came real close to buying there 16' dual console(pretty much for the same reason,wife wanted more seats).But ended up getting the C.C.instead.There seems to be more of a re-sell market for the C.C.(at least in coastal Florida).
