8hp Yamaha Won't run just above idling speed at full throttle

Hi,

I have a yamaha 8 hp (around year 2000) and was wondering what I should check to fix this.
I know it will be simple and that its just a case of tunning something ?

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

check butter flys to see if they are opening.check link and sink try pumping.primer ball to see if it helps could be carb hi speed circ clogged check each plug with timming lite to see if is elec break down.in ign

2 or 4 stroke?

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, its a 2 stroke.
I'm not a mechanically minded however I can usually work stuff out
with a manual in front of me. Would you know if I can download a detailed
manual with labelled diagrams of the engine ?
I did download the manual but Its not very detailed.
The engine is a 2001 model.
