NEED OWNER'S VIEWS ON THE FOLLOWING 23-25' WALKAROUNDS FROM 1966-2003: PURSUIT, KEY WEST, GRADY WHITE, COBIA. TRITON AND WELLCRAFT. Am looking for speed and a good dry passage in the chop crossing Maine's Penobscot Bay. My 22' Hydra-Sports with a 250 Yammy can hit 49 mph and cruises nicely at 36 but is very wet in anything over 30 in chop. The above models strike me as slow, often with maximum speeds of 30-36 mph. Would appreciate recommendations on what kind of outboard power you would put on any of the above boats you are familiar with. As most all have costly T tops and noisy, fragile canvass/vinal siding which cracks and hazes, does anyone know of someone in the NE who might make a custom hard top to replace this messy combination? Finally, how come all Wellcrafts appear to have such low resale value?
