I have an OMC lower unit from, I think, a 55, 60 or 70 hp OMC engine that is L/H rotation. Anyone know the model numbers of engines that came with L/H rotation?

Welcome!!

Actually none of the OMC outboards in that hp range had backwards units. Why do you think it's a counter rotation unit?

Re: left rotation lower unit

There are a couple or reasons for a control to be in forward and the prop to rotate counter-clockwise. The cable could be on the wrong side of the throw in some controls, the gearcase could be a different year than the shift linkage on the powerhead etc.

OMC never built a shifting counter gearcase for a 2 or 3 cylinder recreational outboard. There are some the the shift rod pulls up for forward and some that the rod goes down for forward. To help we'd have to know more about what you have. Motor, controls etc.

Re: left rotation lower unit

I think you are right. I mounted this lower unit on a 1986 Johnson 70 hp. When I put shift control in forward the lower unit is in reverse. If some engines pull up and some push down on shift rod to go into forward I have a mismatched lower unit. Is the direction of the shift control rod determined in the shift linkage on the engine or in the shift/throttle control?
Thanks
