1995 200 venom dies just off idle

Hi all ! I have a a venom 200 that runs like a top on the gardenhose but if you put it in the water it will die JUST off idle . I put a timeing lite on all the wires and # 5 and 4 do not always fire . Can you help me ?

Do you put it in gear on the garden hose? Something changes other then the clarity of the water. May be it is running so lean that the slight load of the water on the prop is causing it to stall. A shot in the dark.

what RPM is it idling at on the muffs? Without the backpressure of water against the exhaust you should idle about 1100-1200, then when ya put her in the water, the backpressure will cause it to drop to about 700 or so at idle.

Maybe reload could confirm the numbers for ya.

Yes I put it in gear on the muffs and yes those idle numbers sound about right but I think the backpreshure of the water is enough to make the ignition problem show up but since it is #4-5 (and maby more ) I dont think it is just a powerpack

I ordered a powerpack today . Ill let you know if that fixes it .
