I have a 2007 GX205 and want to add some additional cleats at the bow. Is the hull strong enough at the bow and how can I get access to the back of the cleat to add a backing plate and fixings?

Re: Adding additional cleats to the VEC hull

I just got my MX175. I am going to have a wakeboard tower installed and I am still trying to figure out how they are going to mount the front mounting plates as the only hole forward of the engine box on the port side is for the stereo wiring. Under the bow seats there are only drain holes. Have you tried taking off the bow backrest cushions? Maybe there are holes behind them. If not I would email Glastron and see what they would say.
I'm sure you could remove the backrest cushions and cut a hole.
I'll let you know what the tower guys do.

I asked Glastron and they told me there was no problem with adding cleats anywhere on the hull and I should ask the dealer to do it. Do you know how the front seat backs come off?

I have no idea how the seat backrests come off.
Hopefully they are now screwed on before they put the two pieces of the hull together.
I'll take a harder look the next time I have the boat uncovered.
