Can someone explain how the float switch on bilge pump is wired. It is a small bilge pump(the typical brand, I don't recall the name) for a 17' boat. The two wires coming off the float switch, one brown wire is connected and disappears in the back of the engine, the other wire read has been severed from its righful place. does the float switch connect directly to the bilge pump or does the severed red wire go directly to the battery?
