Default Smart Tabs

I have 1987 17.5' Bayliner Capri. I bought Smart tabs for it but not sure where to install them. The problem is that part of the back of boat sticks out a few inches further than the bottom of boat and this ledge is just few inches above the bottom of the transom. So I am not sure where to put the tabs because the arm would be on the portion that sticks out.

Thanks,
John

Can you post a pic of the stern of your boat?

Hello.
When you post pics, please include a side view and a rear view both views will be very useful.

When I installed these on my 2004 175, there was an issue as to whether they would fit on a curved transom. Turns out it's not a problem. When I contacted Nauticus, all they advised was that you had to have 9" clearance between the top of the tab and the top of the piston where it is mounted.

Good Luck with it!
