Hi,
Is it possible to remove the Gimbal Housing (Alpha One) and Transom as one unit or do I have to take the Gimbal Housing off first?
Thanks,
Ron

I believe I meant to say:

Do I have to remove the Gimbal Ring to remove the Transom Plate assembly?

Nope, it's actually easier to get the gimbal ring off AFTER removing the transom shield (Gimbal housing) from the boat.

I need to remove my transom plate / gimbal housing as a rusted u-joint tore it up, do I need to remove the engine to replace the (exterior) transom plate?
Thank you, Karl

Yes, you have to remove the engine. In the future, it's best to start a new thread of your own, not the end of an old post. Won't take long and your question will be buried in the middle..
