Johnson Carb kit question

Hey,
I decided I'm going to go ahead and rebuild the carbs on my 1990 Johnson 100GT outboard. To be honest I haven'nt looked at the motor but I'm pretty sure it has two 2 barrel carbs on it. If this is correct do I need to buy 2 carb kits or does one kit come with everything I need for the motor? And also the kit says it does not come with a float. I looked on the site and cannot find were a float is available. If I go thru the trouble of rebuilding should I even worry about the float if they appear all right?
On another note I thought I read that you can take the carbs off and rebuild without having to worry about reset linkages and such is this true? I've rebuilt lots of carbs but generally off of smaller equipment. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, you need a kit for each carb. Normally floats don't go bad so they don't include them in kits. Just be sure it includes the needle and seat.

You'll need one kit per carburetor. the foam floats generally last a long time, don't need replacing unless saturated or otherwise damaged. you may have to find a dealer if you need a replacement float, or ishopmarine.com usually has individual parts like that - shipping is kind of steep sometimes. was I you, I'd assume the floats will be okay.

carb rebuild doesn't always necessitate any linkage adjustments........but link & sync is usually considered part of it -

Yeah to assure proper spark advance at all throttle settings, carb and timer must be synchronized after timer linkage has been reassembled.
