Shaft size question for mariner 40hp on 14ft flat bottomed dorri
hi i just recently brought this dori flat bottomed 14ft boat and with this mariner 40hp engine but im not sure that the shaft size is righrt for the boat as when im driving along at half thorottle and start to pick up speed it seems like the prop is just takeing in air and just slips?? i was told maybe i need a long shaft motor?? i havent got a picture but when the boats in the water the plate above the prop is only just in the water, how far should the engine be in the water?
