This is going to be bad I already know that but heres the deal. I was out on the boat all weekend its was working fine. Then as I was excelerating It made a really bad grinding/electrical noise and shut off. When I tried to restart there was nothing. Opened it up and the starter was stuck in the gears so I tapped it out and tried again nothing but the same. So I tried to pull start and the wheel wont budge. There is plenty of oil and the water pump works? Any advice, cost of repair anythig just so I can get back on the lake.

Will the flywheel move at all?

Look in the slotsa in the top of the flywheel and see if the magnets are in place, or shattered. If they're shattered, they're jamming the flywheel against the stator. If they're in one piece, pull the plugs and see if one-or more-has a piece of piston embedded in it.

Well Im not sure about the magnets but on of the plugs has a grey grafite looking material on it. I turned the bolt on top of the wheel and it moved about 1/4 inch back and forth. Where are these magnets?

Do all the plugs look the same? Can you turn the flywheel? What do the tops of the pistons look like?

Two plugs have a grey metal on them the rest look normal. The top plugs on both sides are the ones that are different. The magnets seem to be good not shatterd. The fly wheel moves about a 1/4 inch then stops, how do I get into the pistons to check them? Why would this happen?

It would appear, top carb either lost fuel, or the high speed jets clogged, or you might have and air leak, or your fuel pump is failing.

Regardless looks like a rebuild is in your future. If you choose to rebuild, don't forget to clean and rebuild the carbs ( all three ), replace the water pump, and replace the thermostats.

What would it cost, if I payed someone? I have never rebuit a carb/pistons anything but I can most of the time chip away at somthing and figure it out. How hard would this be to undertake myself?

Pull the heads off and look at the top two cyls. You need to know if the cylinder walls are damaged, or can be bored- if need be. I would also take the top carb off and have a look at the high speed jets. Look for debris in them. You need to understand the failure mode before you put it back together and run it.
