I did my research and thanks to the links on this forum I ID'd the Merc 200 20hp I picked up as a 1974 according to the serial #. But I would swear that it has an electric starter on it. According to OldMercs these motors didn't have electric starts until '76. I'll recheck my # but if it has one where would the battery connection be?

Go to Mercury parts express nd plug in the serial number. You can get exploded views of the motor. If it had a starter I would think you would have 2 very obvious wires (red & black) hanging out from it.
