What would be the correct timing for 89 mercruiser 5.7L with Rochester Quadrajet carb. I have the V8 22 ign module. Is the timing for idle or at a specific rpm? I see some posts where the base timing is 8*btc. I don't have a Mercruiser serrvice manual yet, I'm working on it.

Re: mercruiser 5.7L timing

Timing is at idle rpm (650-700 rpm) and is 8? BTDC for your engine.
Be sure to check that your advance timing is working properly. Should be 28 to 32? Total.
