While checking the shift cable adjustment on a 1988 3.0L Cobra, I ran into a situation I've not encountered. When the prop is turned by hand to allow the drive to be put in gear, there's only a very small amount of "play" after forward is engaged. However, when reverse is engaged, you can rotate the prop freely about 30 - 40 degrees. Possible gear/dog clutch issue? I would expect such a problem to be encountered in forward, rather than reverse. Thanks.
