I have a 87 Force 125hp that runs strong and good till I get past 4000rpm. At 4000rpm it runs for a few minutes and then bogs out and starts to stall. If I lower my throttle it will eventually pick up. Any ideas??

Fuel delivery problem! Start right from the tank and check to be sure all passages are clean then check fuel pump, then check carb floats. PS. always install a disposable plastic filter BETWEEN the fuel pump and carbs. Those fuel pumps have brass and plastic button valves. Occasionally a valve will shed a piece of brass and clog the inlet needle on one carb. That carb goes lean and you melt that piston.

I have the same if not similar problem with my 88' 125hp. It starts fine and gets up to speed (only at 4000 rpm and 37mph on my Bayliner Cobra with a 13x17 prop), but after a mile or two it will bog down to about 3000 rpm and then sometimes bog down to nothing. Also, when I prime it to start, fuel leaks out of the carbs. What is going on? someone help! Any input would be great.
