I recently acquired a 1947 or so KD model 9.8 2 cyl. outboard. I was wondering where I could get tune up parts. Laings didn't list anything.

Re: Parts for late 40's 9.8HP

I'm trying to remove the fuel tank so I can clean it and the carb out and attempt to start it. Here is where I'm at:

The fuel tank needs to slide up on one side and horizontally to the other to get off the stud mounts. It is hitting against the flywheel. Do I have to take the flywheel off to remove the tank?

Help !!

It looks like it from your pictures but I dont know that engine. I would still try a post on www.aomci.org they know the older engines well.
