Getting ready to install my intake manifold.....is it easier to do without the carb on it and then install it on the motor? Or does it really matter?

Any preferences?

Thanks,
John

What engine? On a small block, the carb can get in the way of the intake bolts, and is easier with the carb added later. It's not a big deal to put the carb on with the intake already installed.

One other question, do you use any type of sealer anywhere other than the front and rear where there is no gasket? What's the best way to get the gasket to stay in place while lining it up?

Thanks

Buy 2 longer bolts, cut the heads off, and install them loosely in each end.
Hang the gasket, and slide on the manifold; install other bolts, then swap out the studs.
