I need some help. I have a 25hp Mercury and it started to have trouble going into reverse. Nuetral and forward are easy to find. I looked at linkage and it appears that is fine. The problem seems to be that the shift shaft can not be moved by the linkage. Is this a lower unit problem? Can anyone suggest a good Mercury mechanic in the Savannah, GA area?

to be sure. remove shift cable from engine. shift manually. if it goes in cable needs adjustment, if not its internal
