Forum Members I am requesting your assistance to help me locate the trim sensor unit on a 2003 Mercury 75HP outboard. My elderly neighbor asked me to help him install a trim tilt gauge on his pontoon boat which I did and although all connections are made, light works fine but the gauge stays in the full up position. I stepped off the boat and into the lake removing his engine cowling to look for the Brown/White wire and found it. It is connected to a Brown wire but both appear to run back up into the same harness connector. I could not find another brown wire nor could I locate the trim/tilt sensor on the engine. Could someone please assist me in locating it (Where it should be) or could there possibly not even be one installed. I really want to fix it for him as he and his wife were especially kind to us when we were building our retirement house by ourselves the past few years. Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.

They are normally on the transom mount. Go to Mercury parts express site and plug in the serial no. It will give you exploded views of different parts of the motor.
