Forum Members I am requesting your assistance to help me locate the trim sensor unit on a 2003 Mercury 75HP outboard. My elderly neighbor asked me to help him install a trim tilt gauge on his pontoon boat which I did and although all connections are made, light works fine but the gauge stays in the full up position. I stepped off the boat and into the lake removing his engine cowling to look for the Brown/White wire and found it. It is connected to a Brown wire but both appear to run back up into the same harness connector. I could not find another brown wire nor could I locate the trim/tilt sensor on the engine. Could someone please assist me in locating it (Where it should be) or could there possibly not even be one installed. I really want to fix it for him as he and his wife were especially kind to us when we were building our retirement house by ourselves the past few years.
