On the pigtail coming out of the side mount remote controls there are three wires, one lead is Grey, one is Black with a yellow tracer, and one is solid black.

My tach quit working- I want to check the wires coming from the remote to the tach to see if it is getting power there- what sort of reading should I see between say the grey and black?

I don't want to buy another tach if the problem is the power to it.

Bl/Y, is the 12volt source.
Bl, is ground.
Gr, is the signal wire.
