Default 2007 Discovery 195

Hi. We just put a deposit on the above new boat. We had a previous Bayliner since 1988 and it never gave us a problem until this summer. The Force is acting up a bit. Anyway, we just wanted to know if anyone has this boat and if you are happy with it? We will use it for a little skiing and just pleasure riding on the Hudson River in NY. What kind of speed do you get at top end? Is the 3.0 engine big enough? How is the ride? We have 7 days to think this over, so please kindly respond if you can. Thanks.

Hello

I just bought a BRAND NEW 07 BAYLINER 185. The ride and power are very nice. I have the 4.3 engine non TPI model.

My top speed is 52 MPH fast and solid. This is my 1st BAYLINER but I have had other ski boats. I would really say that the 4.3 would be a better engine in the 195 but the 3.0 should do a good job your just not going to get the speed I do. I had the 3.0 in my 84 WEBCRAFT that was 19 feet long and it did 45 MPH so I would think an 07 3.0 on a 195 should give you at leats 40MPH.

I think you will find the new 07 BAYLINERS to be very nice boats. I looked at a TAHO while my tach was being adjusted and you can see that they skimp on little things to keep prices less then BAYLINERS.

Im sorry I cant comment on your specfic model but based on my 185 I think you will agree that its a nicer boat then you 88 model and see a lot of the newer technology at work in these new boats.

Good Luck

Last summer I bought the 2008 version of that boat. There are no significant changes in model year. The ride is great, the engine is big enough to get on plane quickly, pull up wake boarders, tubers, etc. My normal top speed (depending on conditions) is about 42-45 with the same engine as you. It is great for pleasure boating, we have been exploring every lake around. It is big enough to handle rough water, and small enough to fish in a foot and a half of water. We love it. This is our first 'real' boat, and I think it has enough to keep us happy for years to come.

we've replied to threads from 03' wondering if the OP got the LU to drop, lol. besides maybe it will bring BAYLINER185 out of hiding, where u at man?! BL195's are cool, we test drove one last summer and liked it very much.

Its good you brought this back to life as I am considering buying a 2008 195 Discovery.

Done a search and was looking for any new feedback comments. I am looking to be able to wakeboard, knee board and tube behind. Will usually have 3-4 in the boat and 1 behind.

Also can a 9.9 be mounted on a swim platform or would that not work?

Thanks
