I bought a 1987 48 SPL Motor to replace the lower unit on another 48 spl I have. The 1987 motor ran from 87 to 96 until this guy bought it. In 96 he pulled he motor off his boat and the motor has sat for the last 11 years. It was stored in doors andlooks to be in good shape. It has power trim (does not work). All the fuel lines are in good shape (not dryrot), everthing is intact, except for the lower unit.

How much is this power head worth?

It really depends on what the inside of the head looks like after sitting. More than likely it's in pretty good shape and worth keeping for parts. Most guys would give their left lugbolt's to have ready parts like that on hand. What was the reason behind pulling the motor and just letting it sit?
