1978 65 chrysler need to know what to wire to make it fire? it has 2 mag wires. could anybody help with this problem so i can see if it will fire. do not want to mess any thing up as this has a low hour powerhead & new lower unit on it. thanks larry
If it has Prestolite or Magnapower ignition, You can pull start it without any wires in the cable hooked up the the terminal board. the problem is that it will not shut off. Again, with these systems, the blue wire goes to the "m" terminal on the ignition switch and the white goes to the other "m" terminal. When you turn off the switch, the "m" terminals connect shorting the white through blue (which is connected with ground on engine terminal block) and stops the engine
it has magnapower so it should have fire till the 2 mag wires are touched together and grounded. do you take all the screws out of the back plate to access sparkplugs. is there any thing else that would cause it to not have spark. such as points under flywheel if so what would be the gap. thank you very much for all of your help. larry
