I posted the other day about my 150 bogging down at 4200 RPM's or so. Very consistent, oil, plugs, et al checked out good. Replaced Fuel filter and separator and it worked but then began bogging again, same thing. while replacing the fuel pump (i hope I put the pieces back right :) ), I noticed what looked like caramel colored shavings that looked like hard plastic in the pump and while looking at my new filter I noticed something in there already... MMM. began tracing back the fuel lines and it looks like the OEM merc fuel lines from the stern to the primer bulb to the fuel pump have a hard, caramel colored plastic lining in them that looked like it was chipping at the ends. I began taking apart all of the fuel assemblies at the bulb, et al, and see them in the bulb. Good news is that inside of the stern to the tank is the hard rubber without this 'lining' so the culprit appears to be the external primer bulb assembly and grey lines... Does this make any sense? the carbs checked out clean all along, which means that the filter was doing its job but I guess when it was under WOT the debris just choked it up....

Anything else you'all think I should be looking at?

It is Sunday so I may not be able to finish the repair till tomorrow. I am going to replace alot of the rubber lines inside the cowling while I am buying tubing.

I also began leaking a bit of oil from the resevoir so I replaced the cap and assembly as well. mechanic told me that common perception is that we overtighten them but he said they just simply develop hair line cracks over the years... That was my easiest job.

I will let you know!
