I have a 69 Merc drive with 160 HP straight six. I recently had to swap the drive for a working one, and added power trim and tilt, which I didn't have before. I actually ahve two problems.

The first is that the drive doesn't stay down. I tried to bleed it per the procedure in the manual and ran it a bunch, but it feels like there is no resistance to lifting it. Is this a valve problem

Second, the out position doesn't work. It's not the switch, it's something else. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?

Lastly, I have a second boat with a trim guage. I'd like to put this on mine. What do I need to connect it to? DOes anyone have a diagram for this?

Depending on Which Trim Pump you're using,.......
The Old Style has a Reverse Lock mounted to the Transom.....
The New Style Pumps have Internal Valving.......

I Doubt you can add the Gauge to your boat,.......
It doesn't have a place to put the Sending Unit.......

Those engines did come with a trim guage.. You're going to love this Bond-o...
It was hydraulic cylinder mounted in the lines to the rams. The end of the cylinder piston rod pushes a linear variable resistor, that's what the guage reads. It's about as reliable as Chinese pet food...

Also at that vintage, it should definitely have a reverse lock valve....

I saw that thing up there. I thought it was a steering damper.

Thanks. I have the old style pump.

what does the reverse lock look like?

I have the whole extra boat sittign there, but lots of my stuff was off when I got it. We've been figuring this out bit by bit.
