I'm looking at buying a 1994 Real Rush jet boat. It has a Mercury Black Max 90HP 3 cylinder engine. Boat is in great shape, but engine has a problem.

One out of the 3 cylinders is showing a very low compression reading of about 30lbs I believe.

Any ideas the cost to repair this? What should I look at? The boat WAS running fine, booked along nicely at 50MPH. Then something happened???

If I can get the boat for $1000, think its worth it? Cost to repair engine?

Its got the mercury engine, with a jet lower unit. I wonder if I could swap out the 90HP Mercury with a 110HP engine?

Thanks for all your help!

Phil
